Questions, answered
- Do I need to buy any special equipment?
- No. Any modern tablet or phone with a camera works as a clock-in point. There's nothing extra to buy and no per-device fees.
- How does the pricing work?
- You pay per location each month — not per device. Standard covers one location, Pro covers up to three, and you can add extra locations to any plan for R200 each per month. Need more than that? Enterprise is unlimited.
- Is there a free trial?
- Yes — every new account starts with 14 days of full Premium access, free. When the trial ends your data stays put and people keep clocking in; you just choose a plan to keep using reports and adding people.
- What happens if the internet goes down?
- People keep clocking in as normal. Everything is saved safely and catches up automatically once you're back online — nothing is ever lost.
- Can VelaID handle payroll and overtime?
- Yes. Hours roll up into earnings and payroll reports with automatic overtime tiers (normal, 1.5× and 2×), and you can capture piece-rate output too. Download a payroll-ready file for your accounting system. Earnings and cost reports are available from the Pro plan up.
- Do you support schools and learners?
- Yes. On the Enterprise plan you get learner analytics — grade-by-grade attendance, at-risk flags, extra-mural registers, and a guardian portal — with extra protections for minors built in.
- Where is our information kept?
- Right here in South Africa, kept safe and completely separate from every other organisation.
